JUNIOR'S PROGRAM

WHEN

  • First Session: Tuesdays January 7th to January 28

  • Second Session: tuesdays February 4 to February 25

  • Time 3:45 pm to 5:15 pm

Parental help is required for the success of our program. Please consider helping, especially if you have a child involved with this program.

Students must be age 8 by 12/31/24. This will be strictly enforced. Each student may take one or both sessions. The lessons are structured such that skiers are paired with others based on age and ability. There is no private instruction. Our Saturday ski school lessons provide more individual instruction if needed for your child.

EQUIPMENT

  • Students must provide their own ski gear.

  • Student rentals from Ogden Nordic are available for the 4 weeks of the program for $50 each session.

  • For rentals, pickup will be Friday, December 20th, 3pm - 6pm or upon a scheduled pick up between a volunteer and the parent.

  • Skiers can register for the cross-country discipline of their choice – classic or skate. If a student is a first-time cross-country skier, we require them to take the classic technique for 4 weeks. Returning skiers can choose either classic or skate technique.

COST

  • Junior program lessons cost $55 for 4-weeks with your own gear.

  • If your skier also rents equipment from Ogden Nordic for the lessons, the cost is $105 for four weeks. These prices include the cost of trail passes for the days we are on the trails.

  • All fees are non-refundable.

  • Participating in either session allows the student free registration to Ogden Nordic's spring race. This is currently scheduled for the first weekend in March.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • Scholarships are available for the Junior lessons (not the rental program). Please contact the Junior Program Director, Mason Vincent, for more information.

We are again offering lessons for children 8-18 who would like to learn to ski or to improve their skiing technique. The format is similar to last year. We strongly recommend that new skiers start with the classic technique as it builds balance and timing skills.
